What you can post

Text

Up to 10,000 characters of body text, and a title of 2 to 300 characters for each subreddit.

Media

A media post takes exactly one image or one MP4 video. A video needs a thumbnail.

Post types

Text post, link post, and image or video post, to one subreddit or several at once.

Analytics

No analytics for Reddit.
Not supported: galleries, polls, NSFW and spoiler flags, video GIFs, and private or restricted subreddits.

Connect Reddit

Reddit is listed in Add Channel, but it cannot be connected on PostQueen yet. Each subreddit’s own rules, karma and flair requirements will still apply to the account you connect.

Post settings

Reddit posts are set up per subreddit. Choose Add Subreddit for each one, then:
  • Search Subreddit: type a name, or paste an r/name or reddit.com/r/name link. Only public subreddits are offered.
  • The post type: Post for text, Link or Media. Only the types the subreddit accepts are offered.
  • Title: 2 to 300 characters.
  • Flair: the subreddit’s flairs. Required when the subreddit demands flair.
  • URL: the link, for a Link post.
The body text is the same in every subreddit: only the title, type, link and flair differ. The field names and values for the API are on Reddit posting settings.

Good to know

  • Before a post is scheduled, PostQueen checks that a media post has exactly one file and that a video has a thumbnail, and that each subreddit has a title of 2 to 300 characters.
  • Reddit’s Responsible Builder Policy forbids automated posting of identical or substantially similar content across subreddits. Write each post for its community.
  • Add comment adds top-level comments under the post, each with its own delay. They work on a post to one subreddit: on a post sent to several subreddits, the comments fail.
  • Subreddits are posted one at a time. If Reddit refuses one, PostQueen shows Reddit’s own reason.
  • When Reddit’s answer is late, PostQueen checks your account for the post before it tries again, so a post is not sent twice.
